Last month I went with Chapel to introduce her to all her family she hadnt met yet. It was a whirlwind trip that was super quick as Freeland only had one day he could take off work. We kept trying to figure out how we could all get back so that family who isnt able to travel could meet her .. then it finally occurred to us that we didnt all have to go. (flying with 3 kids aint gonna happen right now) But we are hoping to get back asap so we can spend more time with family & friends too. It was sad not having the boys with us.
I was so thankful family got to meet Chapel though.
Freeland stayed with the boys and had a boys weekend while Chapel & I had a girls weekend traveling. She did great on her first flight and not so great on the last. But lets note this was the first time in Chapel's life she made it in the car without screaming. That was a miracle considering we were driving all over the metroplex the entire weekend. It hasnt happened as much since we've been home so I was incredibly thankful it happened there.
Moving on.. here she is wide eyed taking it all in and ready to meet family:
meeting Bapa (what river calls grandpa):
meeting uncle Jason:
meeting all the aunts:
my cousins also came in town from college station just to meet her too (and attend a hockey game! ha but chapel had rank for sure!)
and while we were in Texas look who else Chapel got to meet!!!
reunited at last!
little babies .. all just weeks apart:
Chapel and her cousin Theodore:
And here is Chapel getting to meet Nana & Pop ..
such a precious moment that Im so thankful for:
she was seriously so happy and content sitting there cuddling with pop
and then we headed to meet Grandma & Liz & Ronnie at our usual spot. Chapel was a little exhausted by this point but stuck it out like a champ. Im so thankful our family drove in to spend time with her too:
here she is with the baby whisperer:
look how happy she is with Grandma:
Chapel with Lady & Big Chiz:
and this was my first time in a LONG time being away from both boys so here we are skyping! Being on the other end of skype was definitely eye opening for me. Its a little crazy doing face time/skype with a 1 & 2 year old. ha
Im so thankful that even though the weekend was so short everyone took time out of their schedule to spend time with us. It means so much that we got time with family and its definitely something I dont take for granted.
And as for the boys .. they had such a blast with Freeland. I told him after the weekend was over he was definitely better with them than I was so maybe he should consider staying home while I worked. ha! ;) Darn those school loans and all the hard work he has done!
