Poor guy, I dont ever want him to that "middle child" that gets over looked. So, I was determined to do some type of party/celebration even though we just moved and all our friends are scattered all over the place and family is thousands of miles away.
Our sweet friends Sarah & Drew and Lauren & Jeff all came over to help us celebrate.
We threw up some streamers on our porch. Hung some lights. Set out the picnic table. (then took down the picnic table because of rain) Grilled some burgers. Ate some cake. Watched kids stuff their faces. And celebrated.
It was the perfect evening. Nothing over the top but special and fun!
This was all Freeland's doing outside! Props.
**NOTE: I originally wanted to do a "where the wild things are" party for the little guy. I mean come on.. its just TOO perfect! But I decided to wait until he could hopefully appreciate the effort that might take ;)
Instead I just opted for a sign referring to where the wild things are!

Wylder is still obsessed with eating rocks and sticks and grass and dirt .. and anything he shouldnt be eating. (I dont actually mind except for the big pieces that he will choke on) It can be exhausting with him outside or at the park. But I figured .. its your birthday son.. eat whatever you want. So here he is with dirt in his mouth having a blast watching the other kids play!
He seriously was fine with this hat on. I couldnt believe it!
seriously patient big brother
It had also been a year since Miles met his new family! (him & Wylder share the day!) so we were celebrating him too. We re-lit the candle so he could blow it out! How fun to be celebrating a year knowing him. I'll never forget Sarah & Drew coming to see us at the hospital after meeting their son for the first time!
get after it!
Trying for a picture with the birthday boy:
and of course, though we say no gifts, friends bring gifts! ;)
and heres a picture of Wylder & Miles the next morning just because they are a little too cute not to share:
Adorbs. Thanks for celebrating with us friends and making Wylders 1st birthday even more special! It really was the perfect night even with the rain! Happy Birthday Wyld-man.
Let the wild rumpus begin! ;)
