Everyone wants Christmas to be more meaningful

Im aware that Im just taking up more space on the interweb with stuff.. like I do everyday. But I HAD to share this one last video. I saw it on Amy's blog & then on Kate's blog and just a second ago on Jenna's blog too - so I just had to share it.

If you havent ever watched any video that I have posted {SHAME ON YOU} But
you MUST watch this one.

From their website: "What if Christmas became a world-changing event again by turning our focus back to the birth of Christ? What could happen to your family if this focus was celebrated in loud, bold and totally unexpected ways? What if you could actually trade your season of stress for a season celebration and unbelievable memories with your friends and family? What if all of this could save a life at the same time? It can."

Welcome to Advent Conspiracy

PS - If you feel so inclined to give instead of receive.. my brother in law works for Water is Basic. And I just wanted to pass that along. They are working to drill wells for villages in Southern Sudan.. and meet the needs you just saw in the video.

PPS - My step dad is doing this exact thing this year. Instead of gifts he asks that everyone just donate the money instead. And he gave us a list of places to donate to. One he listed {along with Water is Basic} was World Vision.. where you can find a gazillion unique & personal ways to give to help families in impoverished areas worldwide. IE: You could buy a chicken, support AIDS relief, buy seeds for planting, give for emergency relief, buy soccer balls or musical instruments, etc. I agree with Mark - its ingenious! Even if you don't give, check it out. It will open you mind to endless possibilities and gifts start at $10.

  1. Great Post!!! I love that video! I'm emailing it to Jon now as a reminder that we need to decide where we want to give this year. I do think it's important to give money and TIME! To truly seek selflessness, which is completely against our selfish nature, should be our goal this holiday season and every season.

When you get some time, you should go to Four Corners Church's website and download Jon's sermon from November 30. He preached on what this time of the year really means. I think you would thoroughly enjoy it!!!

    Thanks again for this post!
